VERSE: 1 Corinthians 5:6–Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough? TRUTH: The sins that we do, they don’t affect only us, but others as well. Even just the small wrongs that we do can make a huge impact. We must be careful to not allow our sin to continue, but bring it to God so He can cleanse us and make us whole. RESPONSE: Lord, help me to look at my life as You see it. Remove any areas that are not pleasing to You.

VERSE: 1 Corinthians 4:1–Let a man regard us in this manner, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. TRUTH: When others look at us, what do they see? What they should see is servants and stewards. Do they feel served and cared for when they are around us? Do they sense that we have something that they do not understand? Does our relationship with Christ fill our whole lives so that others can’t help be see it? RESPONSE: Lord, I pray that I will be surrendered to You today so that people see only You through me. VERSE: 1 Corinthians 3:13–each man’s work will become evident for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. TRUTH: As a follower of Christ, each day, everything we do is added together to the work we will present to God. Are we building a work that will endure God’s purifying fire, or are the things we’re focusing on going to be burned up? What are we doing today that will last and glorify God throughout eternity? RESPONSE: Lord, help me reevaluate what I am doing each day. Help me focus on the works that…

VERSE: 1 Corinthians 2:2–For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. TRUTH: Paul knew that the only thing that made a change in people’s lives is their relationship with Jesus Christ. When we are speaking with other people, how they view and relate to Jesus Christ is the key. We can get side-tracked into focusing on so many other things, but ultimately what it all comes down to is the relationship with Jesus Christ.RESPONSE: Lord, I am determined to know nothing when I am around others except Jesus Christ and Him crucified so that they may be led to a relationship with You.

VERSE: 1 Corinthians 1:18–For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. TRUTH: The message of God’s love and sacrifice doesn’t make sense to people who have not experienced it. Those of us who have know that God’s love and sacrifice make perfect sense and display God’s power for everyone to see. We must share, both in words and deeds, the truth of God’s power to those who are perishing without it. Will we? RESPONSE: Lord, Your sacrifice and plan for salvation are amazing. VERSE: Psalm 41:9–Even my close friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me. TRUTH: At some time, we will feel betrayed by someone close to us. How do we respond? David brought it to God. We must not look to take revenge ourselves, but take our hurt and anger to God for Him to deal with the entire situation. He knows the full story to all situations and is able to defend us when necessary. RESPONSE: Lord, help me to respond correctly when I have been hurt and betrayed. Take my hurt and heal it so that only Your feelings of forgiveness…

VERSE: Psalm 40:11–You, O Lord, will not withhold Your compassion from me; Your lovingkindness and Your truth will continually preserve me. TRUTH: What gives us the strength to make it through each day? God’s love and God’s truth! Are we relying on those to get through everything that we need? Do we study and learn from His truth so that it will sustain us? RESPONSE: Father, Your love and truth are amazing and I pray that You will not withhold them from me. Allow me to know and live in the blessing they provide.

VERSE: Psalm 39:1–I said, “I will guard my ways that I may not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth as with a muzzle while the wicked are in my presence.” TRUTH: The tongue has such power and influence. It can get us into a great amount of trouble and cause a lot of problems if we are not guarding what we say. We must control our tongue. RESPONSE: Lord, help me to be careful what I speak and say today. I want to glorify You in every word that I speak.

VERSE: Psalm 38:21–Do not forsake me, O Lord; O my God, do not be far from me! TRUTH: In the midst of our hurt and distress, we cry out to God. Have we reached the place where we are desperate for Him and Him alone? Do we rely on Him to work in our lives or we’re finished? RESPONSE: O Lord, be near to me and show Yourself to me. Intervene in my life for without You, I am finished!
