VERSE: Genesis 21:1–Then the Lord took note of Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah as He had promised. VERSE: God took note of her. He followed through on what He had promised to her. Do we believe the Lord when He promises things to us? Do we think about God taking note of us as He fulfills His promises? How beautiful is it to think of God taking note of us. RESPONSE: Lord, thank You for remembering me and taking note of me! Help me wait and be patient as You fulfill Your promises in Your timing.

VERSE: Genesis 20:6–Then God said to him, ‘Yes I know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this and I also kept you from sinning against Me; therefore I did not let you touch her.’ TRUTH: God is taking care of us even when we don’t realize it. God kept Abimelech from sinning in this situation even though he didn’t know that it was sin. RESPONSE: Lord, please protect me from things that I do not understand so that I may be pleasing to You in every situation.

VERSE: Genesis 19:16–But he hesitated so the men seized his hand and the hand of his wife and the hands of his two daughters, for the compassion of the Lord was upon him, and they brought him out and put him outside the city. TRUTH: To Lot, this probably didn’t seem like compassion. They were dragged outside of the town, away from their home. God is compassionate, even when it doesn’t seem like it at the time. RESPONSE: Lord, thank You for Your mercy and compassion even when it doesn’t feel like that’s what it is.

VERSE: Genesis 18:32–Then he said ‘Oh that my Lord not be angry and I shall speak only this once: Suppose ten are found there?’ Then He said ‘I will not destroy it on account of the ten.’ TRUTH: God told Abraham about the destruction that was coming and Abraham prayed. Abraham begged God to spare the city if He could find 10 righteous people. Do we pray as fervently for the lost? RESPONSE: Lord, help me to seek out and pray for people as fervently as Abraham did.

VERSE: Genesis 16:2–So Sarai said to Abram, ‘Now behold the Lord has prevented me from bearing children. Please go in to my maid; perhaps I will obtain children through her.’ TRUTH: They had received God’s promise, but they went about trying to fulfill it on their own. How many times have we jumped ahead of God with our own plans? RESPONSE: Lord, thank You for providing everything You promise. Help me to learn to wait and not get ahead of You and Your plan. Tweet

His descendants would outnumber the stars. Yet, Abram chose to believe the Lord and because of it, the Lord calls him ‘righteous.’ Do we believe what the Lord tells us through His word? Are we ‘righteous?’ RESPONSE: Lord, I pray that You will help me to trust in You regardless of the circumstance. Please help me to be righteous.

VERSE: Genesis 14:23–that I will not take a thread or a sandal that is yours, for fear you would say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’ TRUTH: Abram had just won a battle and saved the king of Sodom and his nephew Lot. Now the king wanted to reward Abram. However, Abram refused to accept any rewards. He wanted to be sure that there was never any doubt about why he did what he did. Abram was following God and he didn’t want people to think that he was in the employ of someone else. Do we guard our motivations? Do people know and recognize that the only motivation for us…

What are we willing to sacrifice to achieve it?” RESPONSE: Lord, my desire is for there to be peace in all situations. Help me know what and when to sacrifice to be able to achieve it.
