Book Review – The Sixth World of Men: A Beacon of Hope, volume 1 by Walter E Mark
An amazing journey into another realm is found in “The Sixth World of Men: A Beacon of Hope, Volume 1” by Walter E. Mark. This book opens up this world and the story of the coming battle for the spiritual dominion of the world. The storyline is inventive and creative, while still paralleling many of the “good verses evil” themes that we are familiar with. The Sixth World of Men has been in steady decline for the last many generations, now a prophecy has been given and several other prophecies are being fulfilled. The evil in the realm is poised to take total control and yet there has been a…

A positive self-image is a valuable asset that is within each person’s grasp, if only we’ll take the time to nurture it and learn how to be proud of who we are and how God made us. Robin Johnson recognized the importance of nurturing that in her own daughters as they were growing up and now she’s sharing her thoughts and methods through her book, “Say it Proud.” In this book, Robin takes the reader through the background behind why she felt led to write this book. She explains the impact that she’s seen in the lives of her daughters as they grew up positively affirming themselves in healthy and…

Book Review – Legends of the Swamps: Uncle Frank and the Search for the Alligator King by Kimberly Thompson
It’s the mark of a great storyteller to leave the audience always wanting more. In “Legends of the Swamps: Uncle Frank and the Search for the Alligator King,” Kimberly Thompson weaves a wonderful tale that is all told while sitting around a campfire. The children want to know more about the legendary Alligator King and ask their Uncle Frank, known for his storytelling, who willingly obliges and takes them on an amazing tale. The story he shares is intriguing and I couldn’t wait to find out where things would twist and turn to next. With brief interludes back to the campfire scene, the story is brilliantly shared through Uncle Frank…

The untimely death of someone we love is a horrible thing to face, but when that death comes at the hand of people we know and have been around, that makes it even more difficult to deal with. Doreen McGettigan describes just such a situation as she shares about the death of her brother in “Bristol Boyz Stomp.” The town of Bristol, Pennsylvania is a relatively small town and Doreen and her family had grown up in and around that area for the majority of their lives. Book Review – Missing Andy by Lori A. Moore
People and relationships make up so much of our lives and often those relationships become “interesting” as our life goes on. Sometimes that can be a good thing and other times it is not. For Lori and Andy, their divorce after many years of marriage resulted in a beautiful friendship that was very close right up to the day that Andy died. Lori has put their and her grieving process together in a touching book entitled “Missing Andy.” I loved many things about this book. I love that the foreward is written by Lori’s current husband who knew and witnessed Lori’s relationship with Andy. He provides a unique perspective that sets…

Book Review – Some Happy Day by Elaine Littau
How do we pick up the pieces when life unravels around us? Author Elaine Littau addresses this question in her historical Christian fiction book “Some Happy Day.” Elaine introduces us to several characters who experience some of the hardships of life, but are able to find a way through them and continue on. Elaine’s book has a strong Christian theme and shares the true love of God and the power of forgiveness. The story is engaging and that makes the book a fast read. This book does have a number of different characters in it, and I was able to follow their individual storylines and keep everyone straight. I love…
