What Makes A Good Leader, Day 6

Be nice. Read Titus 3:1-2.

As a parent raising a child, it seems that we are forever telling that child how to act. We want them to be considerate and kind. We want them to be respectful and gentle. I found myself summarizing all that repeating multiple times into the two word phrase, “Be nice!”

The same goes for us as adults. As leaders, we are to be nice to others, but more than that, we are to teach others to be nice as well. They are to be focused on being respectful and kind. It seems interesting that Paul had to put this reminder here for the people because it implies that they weren’t being nice.

Are we demonstrating good leadership by being nice and kind to everyone? Are we teaching others to do the same? This means that we aren’t stirring up the office gossip. We don’t participate in the bad-mouthing of the boss with our colleagues. We are staying focused on Christ and being nice to others.
