Judgment and Restoration, Day 17

There is no one like God. Read Micah 7:14-20.
There are several verses here that speak to the amazing awesomeness of God. As we finish out this book, we see what makes God unique compared to any other so-called gods. We saw yesterday that we are to wait on Him in hope. Today, we see why. God doesn’t stay angry forever. God is a God of mercy.
When you look at all the other gods that people have created, we see that none of the others have mercy. None of the others pardon anyone. When people “invent” These other gods, they give them human characteristics and as such, they hold grudges. Only God is one who has characteristics that we can’t truly understand. We were made in His image, not the other way around.
Yes, God is going to judge sin. God is a holy God and requires holiness from us. God will judge anything in our life that is not holy, but God also provides mercy and grace. God does not stay angry forever, and God provided a way for us to be able to repair and accept a relationship with him. God is full of mercy and grace, but it is up to us to decide if we are going to accept it or not.
Judgment and restoration: two sides of the same coin. Both are accurate descriptions of the character of God. The side we experience is based upon our relationship with Jesus Christ and our willingness to place him as the Lord of our life. Will we experience the judgment of God because of our rebellion from him? Or, will we experience the restoration of God because of our acceptance and reliance on Christ?
