We see all that God has done and all the reasons why he is worthy of our worship and our honor. Are we truly recognizing God for who he is? He is our Maker. He is our creator. I’m trying to hold on, but some days my desire to grit my way through it just isn’t there. My foot slips a bit more each time. The beauty of the situation is that God is the one who helps to hold on. Sometimes the changes are not good and surprising. No matter what, we can rest in the knowledge that God is the same. His statutes and standards never change. His holiness is constant. No matter what I go through, he is constant and I can trust in him to always be the same.

Here the bible says that he has profound thoughts. God loves us and he thinks profound things about us. He knows us better than we know ourselves. This verse is a reminder that life is short, and while we all know that and can speak the that, the reality is that we don’t really understand that. Moses asks God to teach him that life is short, which implies that he didn’t already truly understand that. But, once he does understand that, that is the path to wisdom. It is a great reminder that if we aren’t careful, we will have a divided heart. So many things in this world are vying for our attention. We have to be intentional about what fills out heart. Are we willing to choose Christ and Him alone? Will we keep a single-minded heart?
