The Coming King, Day 8 God is coming. As we read through today a section in 2nd Peter, we see chapter 3, verses 8-9, that God is coming back. Jesus had come and had lived on Earth and the disciples had faith that he would return again, just as they were told. We can have faith that Christ is coming again because of our belief in his coming the first time. God has already proven himself faithful because he came as a baby and we celebrate that at Christmas. Because of God keeping his promise, we have that much more assurance that God will return again when it’s the right…

The Coming King, Day 7 The care of the father. As we continue reading, we see in Isaiah 40:9-11 that God the father cares for us in so many ways. We can have faith in God because he is a caring father who is always looking our for his children. God knows that we can’t do anything without him and so he works to make sure that we know that we can really on him. He is trustworthy. He is worthy of our faith. Do we place our faith in him?

The Coming King, Day 6 We will see God. As we look to all that we will God doing, we read Isaiah 40:1-5. We will see God’s glory. And not only us, but the whole world will see the glory that God has. We gave faith in God, but it is not a baseless faith. This is a faith that comes from knowing who God is. Do we know him and praise him for who he is?

The Coming King, Day 5 Faith. Are we willing to have fait and wait? As we keep reading about the coming king, we look today at Psalm 46:10-11. When we think about faith, do we consider how our faith in God is reflected in how we come to Him? Do we approach Christ with a sense of awe and reverence? Do we approach his throne with confidence that all that he is doing is going to be fulfilled? Do we come to him in faith?

The Coming King, Day 4 The sign. God promised to give us a sign for us to know that He was real and that He would do what He said. Read Isaiah 7:14. In this verse, God is telling the people through the prophet Isaiah that he was making a promise to the people. He would fulfill that promise and the reason they could believe that is because of the sign that God would send. God would have a virgin give birth to a son who would be the God in flesh. This would have sounded crazy to the people at that tine. It would sound crazy to people in…

The Coming King, Day 3 As we continue looking forward to the coming of Christ, we are looking at Psalm 80:1-7. As we continue looking forward into the coming Christmas holiday, we are reminded that Christ came to us. Today we’re looking at Psalm chapter 80, verses 1 through 7. Looking through these verses, we see that we needed a savior. The Psalm is explaining the desperate need of restoration that we have. We are broken and fallen and we need a savior. Are we willing and able to open up and to allow the Savior to come in? Are we seeking some type of resolution for the desperate need…

The Coming King, Day 2 Our King is coming. In the month of December we are going to look at how God came 2000 years ago and also how he is coming again. Read Isaiah 64:1-5. This passage focuses on the coming King and how he will return victorious and triumphant. Jesus came as a baby and as a sacrifice 2000 years ago and when he comes again it will be as the Lord and King. When he returns, all will shake at his coming.
