VERSE:Daniel 6:5–Then these men said, “We will not find any ground of accusation against this Daniel unless we find it against him with regard to the law of his God.”TRUTH:What a testimony! The men knew they would find nothing against Daniel unless it was about how fervently he served God. Could the same be said for us?RESPONSE:Lord, I pray that this would describe my life.

VERSE:Daniel 5:22–Yet you, his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, even though you knew all this.TRUTH:Bekshazzar watched his father go through many things and ultimately proclaim God as God. Yet, he did not learn from His father’s experiences and ultimately God destroyed him. Do we learn from the experiences others have? Do we seek to humble our heart before him?RESPONSE:Lord, thank You for the opportunities to learn more about You. Help me to take advantage of every learning experience You allow.

VERSE:Daniel 4:37–Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise exalt and honor the King of Heaven for all His works are true and His ways just and He is able to humble those who walk in pride.TRUTH:The king was brought face to face with the power and glory of God and He was humbled to the point where he had no choice but to acknowledge God and His glory. What will it take for us to acknowledge God’s glory in every area of our lives?RESPONSE:Lord, You are awesome and worthy of praise. You are the One I serve.

VERSE:Daniel 3:18–But even if He does not, let it be known to you O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.TRUTH:The three had a choice between disobedience to God or death. They knew God had the power to save them in the situation, but even if He didn’t, they were going to be obedient to Him. Will we obey God no matter what?RESPONSE:Lord, I know You are able to save in all situations, but if my obedience results in death but brings You glory, then so be it.

But, God knows and understands all things. He reveals to us the things we need to know, but we can trust Him to take care of the things that we don’t know.RESPONSE:Lord, You know all things. I can trust that You will take care of all things.

VERSE:Daniel 1:8b–so he sought permission from the commander that he might not defile himself.TRUTH:Daniel knew what was right, but instead of just starting a rebelion, he tried to work with the officials so that they understood and would be influenced by God working in his life. When we take a stand, do we do so with a heart to see others turn to God?RESPONSE: Lord, help me follow You no matter what, but do it so that others understand and see You.

VERSE:Hebrews 13:8–Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and foreverTRUTH:The same God who parted the sea, fed the 5,000, and rose from the dead is the same God who wants to have a personal relationship with us. He will be the same regardless of our circumstances. He will be the same regardless of our acceptance or rejection or Him. He will continue throughout all time.RESPONSE:God, You are the only constant in life. You are worthy of all praise and I love You.

He disciplines us so we may have the fruit of righteousness.RESPONSE:Lord, thank You for Your discipline. Allow me to be trained so that I may produce pleasing fruit.

VERSE:Hebrews 11:6–and without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.TRUTH:The only way to be pleasing to God is through our faith in Him. The Lord wants for us to place our confidence in Him and His promises, even when we don’t see them with our eyes. Will we have faith in Him?RESPONSE:Lord, You say it, I’ll believe it and act as if it’s happened already. Your promises are true.

VERSE:Hebrews 10:36–For you have need of endurance so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.TRUTH:We cannot do the will of God on our own, and we certainly can not do it consistently. God provides for us first by doing through Christ what we could not do on our own and second by providing the promise of redemption and eternal life.RESPONSE:Lord, thank You for making a way for us to endure because even when we want to do Your will, we fail. Thank You for keeping Your promises to us.
