As we read through Ezekiel chapter 46, we see the people coming to worship. It states that the people should come in from North and then exit from the south. Or, the people can come in from the south and exit to the north. Either way, they are not to exit in the same way that they entered. God always provides for his people. In Ezekiel chapter 45, we see God setting aside the land for himself and His Temple. He gives specific instructions about the size and such that should be set aside. But God does not stop there. God takes the time to line out the place where his servants the priests are too be. He gives them a specific portion of land also to provide for their needs. God will never leave those who serve him out in the cold with nothing. God has described his temple in prior chapters. Now, in Ezekiel chapter 44, God describes the people who will serve in his Temple. God lists through a number of people who had been servants in his Temple, but who had turned away from him. As a result, they are no longer suitable to serve him in his holiness. God does find a group of people who have been faithful to him. God then gives some descriptions about what these people who will serve him will do. Throughout Ezekiel chapter 43, Ezekiel sees a vision of God In His glory coming to inhabit the temple that he has been describing in the previous chapters. God tells Ezekiel to tell the people what he has seen. He tells him to describe the glory of God and to describe the temple and if the people will repent and turn to Him, then He will do exactly as he has described in these visions. In Ezekiel chapter 42, God begins describing the outer chambers of this Temple. There is a focus on the wall that goes around the outer Chambers and at the very end, the last verse of the chapter, it indicates the importance in separating the holy from the profane. God is holy. God desires that we are Holy like him. Through Jesus Christ, we can be made holy by allowing Jesus to live through us. Otherwise, the things that are profane such as people living their life without Jesus Christ, will find themselves separated from God. Are we living in such a way as to be in the presence of God?…

Ezekiel chapter 41 reads a lot like a blueprint. The full scematics for the temple that Ezekiel saw are listed with all the measurements. God’s plans are always precise. God is a God of details. He cares about the small and seemingly insignificant details of all that you do. As you read through this chapter, it can be difficult to see how this applies to our life today. What I saw is that God has not changed and the level of interest in the details of this temple is an accurate  reflection of God’s level of interest in all areas of our life. Starting in Ezekiel chapter 40, we see God begin to detail out the glorious restoration that God has in store for those who follow Him. Interestingly, the scripture says that the city took 14 years to get to the place of Repentance. They had been in captivity for 14 years before God shows Ezekiel that there will be victory. God will have His glory. No matter the difficulties we find ourselves in, we can always remember that God has a purpose and a plan. God’s plan is always better than we could ever imagine. Start with giving God the glory due Him and watch how He blesses that.

Ezekiel chapter 39 describes the judgment and fall of Gog. As I look at verses 7 and 8, I see the same theme continuing as God looks to protect and glorify His holy Name. Everything that is done is done to show the holiness of His name and to display His glory in the world. As we consider all that we do, does it display and declare the glory and holiness of God?

Reading through Ezekiel chapter 38, we see God telling of future judgment. The chapter ends with God explaining that he will magnify himself, sanctify himself, and make himself known. God is always going to show His holiness. If we are not about the holiness of God, we will not last. God will always be moving in such a way as to display His holiness. Willl we be moving with Him?

Happy April Fools Day. No tricks here 🙂 Reading through Ezekiel 37, we see the interesting vision of the dry bones. Ezekiel sees them, God asks if they can ever have life again and then God brings them back to life while Ezekiel watches. What I find very interesting is in verse 11 is when God begins to explain the meaning of this vision. God indicates that the valley is full of dry bones because the people of Israel have lost their hope. Their hope has dried up and shriveled away.
