But a statement like that begs the question as to whether or not that means God is forgetful? A forgetful God would also not remember other things, such as their promises or their commandments. However, God is not a forgetful God. He fully remembers absolutely everything. He makes a choice to no longer remember our sins when we have come to him in repentance. As we read this chapter of Isaiah, we see that God is reminding the people that he is greater than anything else they might have or be praising or worshiping. God is not prideful, because he is deserving and worthy of every bit of praise. It’s not pride when it’s true. God is greater than anything else in this world because he created this world. Are we giving God the praise that he deserves, because if not, God will still take the praise that he deserves. God is worthy. We ought to praise and worship him today.

As a result, the Assyrians are coming to threaten and conquer them.
