The Prophet of Redemption, Day 9 God is our protector. He is our defender and the one who stands between us and the enemies. Read Zechariah chapter 9. Some days, I feel I have so many enemies. Some days I am my biggest enemy. God indicated to the people that he would place himself at the door and he would be the protector of His people. We don’t have to defend ourselves; God does that. The Prophet of Redemption, Day 8 God can do beyond anything that we could ever dream. Read Zechariah chapter 8. As we read these verses, and this verse specifically, we see that that God is the God of the miraculous. God takes situations that seem hopeless and down and depressing and does so much more than anything we could ever have conceived of. Personally, going through some challenging times and reading this verse today, I find it difficult to conceive that God would be able to still work and move. Yet, He is doing just that. The Prophet of Redemption, Day 7 How do we respond to God? Read Zechariah 7. As we see the people, we see their response to God. They refuse to pay attention and they stubbornly won’t listen. How do we respond to God? Are we willing to hear Him and repent?

The Prophet of Redemption, Day 6 God makes the impossible possible. I know that many people have made this statement and here we see Zechariah alluding to this exact idea in this verse. Read Zechariah 6. We can so often be focused only on what we can see or touch. We need that sensory proof to be able to believe. Yet, God is not limited by anything so mundane as our senses. God can absolutely make the impossible possible. He promised it to Zechariah and when it comes to seeing God’s will in our lives as well, we can see it, too. Do we expect to see God do amazing…

The Prophet of Redemption, Day 5 As God begins to bring justice, we see God’s curses. Read Zechariah 5. As we see God explaining to Zechariah, the people who are not following God will experience the wrath and curses of God. Are we living in obedience to God?

The Prophet of Redemption, Day 4 By His Spirit. As the word of the Lord is given to Zechariah, God has a message for Zerubbabel. Read Zechariah 4. Zerubbabel was the leader and he had a difficult situation he was in. God wanted to remind him that he wasn’t going to act in his own strength or power, but in the Spirit of God. When we think about our lives and the challenges that we face, we are only able to be successful through the Spirit of God. It is not our own power or strength that will prevail. Only the Spirit of God is what leads us to victory.…

The Prophet of Redemption, Day 3 Jesus defends us. As we read through this chapter, we see how God defends those who put their faith and trust in him. Read Zechariah 3. As we read this chapter we see Satan accusing the priest and yet God defends him and brings him up and restores him. When we are following God and living for him, God is the one responsible for our reputation. God defends us. We can trust God to take care of us and keep us, no matter who is accusing us.

The Prophet of Redemption, Day 2 God is on the move. We read so much in Zachariah chapter 2 but the big theme of the chapter is to understand that God is on the move. You see, everything had seemed so uncertain and God had seemed so far away to all of the people. They had been in captivity and in bondage all this time and now, God is moving. You see, God never stopped moving but they didn’t see it and they didn’t understand what he was doing. Now, they can actually see God working and moving and directing the situations that they are experiencing. God’s power and influence…

The Prophet of Redemption, Day 1 I’m not always very patient. When we think about the things that we go through and we believe to be injustices in our life, we can often be frustrated with the things that just don’t seem to be fair. Zachariah understood that feeling. Read Zachariah chapter 1. This prophet had seen the dark times of Israel. He lived through their captivity and now he’s starting to prophesy about God remembering his people and bringing them back.
